 Welcome to our retail division's web site. In it we describe some of our retail operations in detail as well as introduce you to some of the team, the people that make it happen, both in our head office in Bristol in our retail stores aboard some of the best luxury cruise ships in the world.
The logistics of keeping the shops replenished with merchandise that is relevant and current to the leisure experience that the passengers are having are complex and were it not for the buying team, the Merchandising team lead by Dave Whitmey, the logistics and distribution team lead by Gary Newell and the Retail Operations Team lead by Mark Birnie, we could not grapple with the complexities and keep our cruise line customers and their passengers happy.
Darren Powell is responsible for the look and feel of the shops - he tries to always tell the passengers a series of clean "stories" such that they are intrigued and want to see what is around the next corner. Louise Smith runs our group HR function and Bernadette Vucinic runs our retail recruitment and training teams who are responsible for supplying the Area Managers with the right mix of adequately experienced and prepared jewelers, perfume and cosmetics sales staff as well as the pool of general "shoppies" as they are known in our business. Chris Needham our Director of
Business Systems has the task of operating the systems side of the business,
a task that involves interacting with the various systems employed by our
various customers.
You will see some of the Area Managers too who between them have got more years at sea than they will admit to, but who have a deep understanding of what makes our ship's tick, what merchandise passengers are looking for in the different seasons and parts of the world.
